Archive for the ‘Announcements’ CategoryToday begins “a new era of transparency”, as Mike Pernick put it, with regard to the SBC and how it allocates the student activities budget. All students at Wesleyan now have the ability to view every allocation decision that the SBC has made — which groups have received funding, how much they have received, and [...] This weekend Wesleyan’s Board of Trustees will be on campus. The trustees will be hosting an open meeting with students this Friday from 5-6 pm. This is a great opportunity to interact in an informal setting conducive to great discussion. This Thursday the 19th the Student Life Committee will be hosting a discussion about the campus climate. In order to have a fruitful conversation send us any thoughts you have about the climate of name-calling, harassment, and other social justice and diversity issues on campus. UPDATE: The New York shuttles will be going to Grand Central Station and not Penn Station. Also––under the “Student Life at Wesleyan” section in your ePortfolio is the Rideboard, where you can arrange to hitch [...] Campus Fire Safety conducts unannounced room inspections throughout the year to check all residences for prohibited items. Every student should expect to be inspected soon if they have not been inspected already this semester. A list of prohibited items can be found at Campus Fire Safety’s website. The WSA Dining Committee, EON and Bon Appetit are happy to announce the Eco-To-Go Program is now at the Usdan Marketplace! The annual Social Justice Leadership Conference will be taking place in February this year. This event was developed by the WSA and Student Activities & Leadership Development (SALD) about three years ago, and since then has evolved to its current conference format. The goal of the conference is to educate people about social justice and how [...] WSA members will be available in the Usdan Center on Wednesday the 28th and Thursday the 29th at lunch and dinner to sign people up to use our new Zipcars. Visit the Wesleyan Athletics Hall of Fame website and check out some of the items that are being auctioned off. Anything from autographed memorabilia, game tickets, private lessons etc. The Student Judicial Process Committee, a joint committee between the Wesleyan Student Assembly and the Student Judicial Board, will begin meeting next week to discuss possible changes to the Code of Non-Academic Conduct and the Student Judicial Board. |
