Winter Student Group Leader Update
Dear student group leaders,
I hope that you all had a great fall semester and wonderful winter break. Throughout the fall semester, the
Community Outreach Committee (COCO) and other members of the WSA have been working hard to improve student activity on campus. This year, we reformed the new group
recognition process to introduce the Recognition Petition and bring back the Recognition Meeting. We want to make sure that funds are being fairly allocated and support recognized groups well. In that vein, the first version of the
Student Group Handbook was written and is available online. We also established
Category Liaisons to work with specific types of student groups closely throughout the year. One of our major ongoing projects has been to find a replacement for
WSA Tools and Applications, and we are exploring
CollegiateLink.
Please save the following dates:
- Saturday, February 02 at 2:30PM – Student Group Leader Summit
- Friday, February 08 at ~5:00PM – Student Group Fair
The Student Group Leader Summit is new this year, aiming to enhance resources for groups and collaboration between them. Members of COCo and the SBC will be there, and you should be too. The Spring Student Group Fair is happening for the second time this year and is a great opportunity to advertise and re-energize your group. You can read the full COCo Mid-Year Report
here, which also includes work from our subcommittees.
Most importantly,
we want to hear from you. Please fill out this
1-2 minute survey about your experience in the fall. As always, feel free to email me at
syed@syedagmalali.com if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Thank you!
See you soon,
Syed
