Public Safety Advisory CommitteeWant to influence the relationship between Public Safety, the Middletown Police Department, and Wesleyan students? Want to have your opinion on Public Safety policy heard? Apply to serve on the Public Safety Advisory Committee (PSAC)! PSAC addresses the relationship between Wesleyan students, Public Safety, and the Middletown Police Department (MPD). It also serves as an advisory body to Public Safety. PSAC is co-chaired by Dave Meyer, director of Public Safety, and Sylvie Stein ‘12, the chair of the Community Outreach Committee (COCo). The committee also includes representatives from the MPD, COCo, and the Student Affairs Committee (SAC), as well as one appointee (potentially you!) from the student body. Membership on the committee requires that you attend one-hour weekly meetings, and devote your own time to the independent projects created and implemented through PSAC. To apply to be the student appointee, send a 250-500 word paragraph explaining why you would like to serve on PSAC to coco@lyris.wesleyan.edu by Monday, October 19th. In your submission, feel free to share thoughts on PSAC or Public Safety in the past, ideas for the future, or any special qualifications you may have. The Community Outreach Committee will review your application and contact you for an interview during the week of the 19th. You will then be notified of their decision by Sunday, October 25th. Questions? Contact Sylvie Stein at sstein01@wesleyan.edu. You must be logged in to post a comment. |
